The Graduate Institute | Geneva

Thunderbird is proud to deliver our Executive MBA in Geneva in collaboration with The Graduate Institute.  In a partnership which began in 2009, the Thunderbird and the Institute will share a number of initiatives in Executive Education, leveraging the expertise across various public, private and NGO sectors.  The Institute brings a wealth of knowledge in many relevant fields for international managers, from Global Economics to Political Science to International Development.  As a legacy institution in Geneva, the Institute has strong ties with its alumni and thought leaders in major global organizations in Switzerland and beyond.

The Graduate Institute has an illustrious history of intellectual research and worldwide leadership in the areas of international trade and integration, conflict and peace-building, migration and refugees, international environment issues, and international health policy. Each of these areas have implications across global business practices and international business development.

As part of the Thunderbird collaboration, The Graduate Institute will host several modules of the Executive MBA-Europe each year at its Villa Barton campus on Lake Geneva. In addition, The Graduate Institute faculty will teach and lend expertise to key subject areas in the Executive MBA program.

Although the two institutions are partnering, Executive MBA-Europe students will earn the Thunderbird MBA in Global Management.

The faculty who will contribute (teaching and/or support) to the Executive MBA experience include:

  • Dr. Cedric Dupont - Director of Executive Education, Business and Politics
  • Dr. Jean-Louis Arcand - Chair, Development Studies; and Professor, International Economics faculty
  • Dr. Fariba Hashemi - Global Economics faculty
  • Dr. Manfred Elsig - Political Science faculty
